Default Just one of those days.....

Tried real hard not to give up today.
    Should'a stayed in bed.

Archery club is on a well.
Got a leak in the manifold that the pressure regulator is tapped into.
Tear apart & reassemble the manifold.
Power up, the pump motor is dead.

I'm at the club might as well shoot.

    Take out the Scepter 4.
Not shooting bad, just can't quite get the new sight dialed in.
Enough of that, bring out the ALIEN Z.
Killed'em at a 3D on Sunday, now it's time to switch over to hunting mode.

No this can't be... a broken string in my buss cable.
I got you beat this time Mr. Murphy, I have a new string set in the gear box.
Install the cable, step to the line, draw, pulllllll, come on it's just 56lbs.
    Somethings up, draw scale.... 65lbs?
Remove the cable it's 1/2" short of spec.
This isn't going to work, I still got Murphy covered.
Original cable reserved for emergency duty.
Reassemble, wipe the sweat out of my eyes, I didn't mention the 98 degrees in the shade did I.

Step up to the line, draw, aim, CRACK/BANG, what just happened?
Split buss only has one leg attached, string is derailed, TOP LIMB IS SPLIT LENGTH WISE.

Still haven't figured out exactly what happened.
Did recover the arrow, so it wasn't a dry fire.
Couldn't bring myself to tear down the bow to see if it's just the limb.
Don't know what I'm going to do with archery opener just a couple weeks away.

Mr. Murphy got the better of me today.
Going to finish this scotch then off to bed.
I'll figure out what to do tomorrow.

I know Barnsdale is the go to fix for new limbs.
I have to think on what to do, this might be time to look into a new bow.

My biggest concern is archery opener next month.
    Priorities you know.

Dude that sucks!!!!! It always happens to me when I have the least amount of time to fix anything. Hope nothing else is wrong with your bow. Call barnsdale bite the bullet and get it up and running for the season. No time to wait around. Good luck.
Bought a Martin, Then my wife gave me a Rytera so.......I joined the forum.
Then won the Elite on Archery Talk.
    I am blessed.

Just finished the Z tear down & inspection.
    Everything rolls straight and true.
Even the string and cable came through unscathed.

    Two damaged parts.
The limb of course, split from the fork about half way down the length.

The other part is one of the plastic pieces the split buss attaches to.
It appears that I didn't get the cable loop fully seated & it slipped off at draw.
The limb twisted, split, the string derailed and tied up the bow.
Derailing as it did may have prevented more damage and or lost parts, from the bow & myself.

Time to consider my limb options and see if I can get that buss cable piece from Martin.
Replaced the cam under warranty, still have to reserve the cable about every 500 shots and now this.
When I have the bow up and running it shoots just incredibly well.
I don't give up easily and I will get this sorted out.

Maybe I should check the camo pattern carefully for hiding gremlins.

Looks like my ancient Alpine Turbo Extreme is going to pull backup duty for opener this year.
That means nothing beyond 30 yards.
That's mighty short range in the Sierras.
