    Default Center Serving Issue?

I've had my 08 Cheetah for about a month and I've probably shot it 300-400 times and today I noticed that the bottom end of my center serving is unraveling. I know this can't be normal...are there other problems that would cause this?

Actually , for factory strings (and nothing at all against Martin) I have found this to be fairly common. When I bought factory strings, one of the first things I would do is have the center serving replaced. Zebra strings have been the worse in my opinion. I have even seen them come unraviled after only a dozen shots or so. I would doubt that there is a problem with the bow. Take it back to the shop you bought it from and have them reserve it, if anything it should only cost a couple of dollars.

Thanks....is there any way of fixing it without doing the whole serving?

Bottom of my Bengal center serving came undone, too.
And yes, you can fix it. If you know how to finish tying on a new serving, keeping the serving tight on the bow string, just unwind enough serving to do your end knot & retie it.

Did that to mine & it's holding fine.

You can look up how to tie on a new bowstring serving quicker than I can take & post pictures of it. Follow the final steps of the serving.

Darren is steering you right. And don't worry if you have to shorten the serving some to get enough to work with. There is no logical reason to have 7" center servings on a string. Especially if you use a loop.

I usually reserve mine right from the git-go and shorten them right down to about 3" with my nocking point (loop) right in the middle. In your case, just learning, don't go too short. You may have to relearn again later.

I went to my Gander Mountain Archery shop and they easily re-served the bottom end of my center serving and my world is round again. Thanks everyone....
