    Default Martin Mouth Bow

Yes, you read that correctly, a mouth bow, as in anchor and release with your teeth!

Having recently had shoulder surgery on the left shoulder, and still having a desire to shoot, I decided that the "left hand" Cheetah riser I have been saving to build into a 3D/light-medium game hunting bow for my wife should instead (or at least temporarily while the left shoulder is healing up) be made into a mouth bow.

So, to mount on the Cheetah riser, I found some 01H 14" magnum limbs, a "00HL" Fury cam and string set off an old Tigress and started assembling parts...

What I ended up with was a fairly light, easily maneuverable, light draw weight (20-35#) bow perfectly suited for the task.

In stead on drawing with a mechanical release with my opposite hand, I clenched the "chew strap" mounted to the D-Loop, between my upper and lower molars, draw, sight, and release by opening my mouth.

The chew-strap was made from a length of some 550 "para cord", slipped through the D-Loop, folded back on itself and sewn together.

    WORKS GREAT!

A while ago there was a man who posted about doing that with a Mystic bcause he had a disability where he could not use one arm. He had a release designed for his mouth though.
