It would depend on how much you trim them down to. When I used them I never used them full length. That being said, I have no idea what they weigh. That was the days before I worried about speed or even knew about such things. However, you can trim them to a shorter length and move them closer to the cams and speed loss won't be near as much. It's kind of a balancing act. You want to gain some speed, but still keep the bow quiet for hunting.

I just tie a bunch of flies for they guys at my local proshop (they are all flyfishermen there), and they let me rummage through their bulk stuff and pick out tons of stuff for free. Basically, any limbsavers, leeches of all typer, STS's, cable rods, fletches, inserts, nocks, points, and the like are free for me minus a little of my time.

Sounds like you have a real crowd around there. I had no idea so many people lived in one place way up there in Canada.

When I replaced my "rubber hosed" peep to the G5 meta-peep, I had to eliminate the leeches 'cause they couldn't eliminate a "doink" noise on the string from the meta peep. So I installed them whiskers and problem solved although them whiskers are heavy. Nothing beats the whiskers, I have them in all my three bows.
