Actually your best bet is to talk with the custom string maker of your choice and see what they suggest. You could also visit websites for BCT Fibers and Brownell to see what they offer in the way of string material and serving material.
You might not understand everything, but it doesn't hurt to have some knowledge of what you might hear from someone who makes strings. I know some will mix and match. They'll have cables made from 452X which is a very stable, no stretch material and a string from 8125 for the added speed. But all 452X isn't a bad deal either and keeps things simple.
