Recently Purchased Used Martin Jaguar Compound / Cracked Limb

I am new to this forum and would appreciate some feedback. I purchased a used Martin Jaguar Compound Bow / 70# draw weight, 29" Draw Length, has offset Dyno Cam on bottom and round cam on top. I have been out of the sport for awhile so I need to get my wheels back under me. The guy I purchased the bow from never shot it. It sat in the case for awhile? Not sure what year it is, but it is the shorter lighter framed bow. I started shooting it and got it tuned in with relative ease. Loved the accuracy and speed. Shooting tight groups with little practice at 20 yards. Today, while at full draw, I heard an awful cracking sound. I didn't know weather to let off, or fire, so I just shot the arrow. After inspecting the bow, it has a crack in the top limb. Any advice on replacement - availability, and approximate cost? My dilema is I am paying the gentleman out that I bought the bow from. I have paid him $100 so far. Total price for bow, case, and dozen carbon arrows $295.00. Should I seek to repair, or get my money back and cut losses?

if i were you i would try to get your money back, i just did an ebay search and couldn't find any limbs, but i think that they would run around $75, plus getting them installed, so you would probably be paying around the $100 that you have already paid. just my .02, wish you the best of luck

If he is the first owner you can ask him to call Martin and try to get new limbs.

Depending on the limbs on your bow you will get some new quite easy.

Aks the original owner to get new limbs for the bow. If he is not willing to do so you can always call Martin customer service. Maybe it will take some time to get them on the phone but they will help you anyway.

what limbs do you need lenght I'm assuming is 15", what is the deflection rating on the side fo the limb?

Do you have a qualified bow mechanic to do the limb swap for you

There are no 15" limbs as far as i know.

Only 13" Super Mag, 14" Magnum, 16" SE and 17" Elite Limbs.

Oh, and the new 4layered Mag-Limbs of 2010.
