How long are the arrows. How heavy are the points. What is the draw length of the bow.
There are lots of variables to consider, but if you are shooting anything around 27-28" you should probably be shooting a 340 spine. Longer than that I'd steer you toward a 300 spine.

It depends on which arrows you are speaking of. Those by Easton/Beman and the Ultralite series by Gold Tip are categorized by the actual spine deflection, such as .500, .400, .340, and .300. This is how much flex they have in a spine tester. In these cases the lower the number the stiffer the shaft.

Other companies mark their arrows the other way around so this is where you have to do your homework. For instance Carbon Express has their Maxima which comes in two different sizes---250 and 350. The 250 is close to a .400 spine and the 350 is the stiffer of the two. Then there is PSE which marks them 100, 200, 300, 400 with the stiffer shaft having the higher number.

IMO the ATA should step in on this and set standards for marking arrows with the actual spine deflection like Easton/Beman does. Things get really confusing for people who don't know what they are doing.

By doing your homework I'm saying to get on each manufacturer's website and look things up. Spine deflections and shaft weights are listed for most of them. Another good source is a catalog from Lancaster Archery Supply. It has most all this stuff, too.

All in all, it sometimes boils down to getting arrows from a local shop simply so that you can get more of the same when need be. Availability can be a major consideration. Problem with this is that most shops only carry the more popular arrows/shafts which is only a drop in the bucket compared with what is available. A good example of this is Gold Tip arrows. Most shops only carry XT and Expeditons, when GT makes a lot more different arrows. Some lighter, some heavier, some for target, large diameters, you name it.

You're gonna have to spell this one out. I don't understand the question.
