No, no Martin compound bow requires a bowpress, but it can make the job easier.

If you do some fishing sround on this site you'll get more enlightenment. Take a good look at your bow. Near the ends on the riser there are two barrle nuts which the lib bolts thread into. Looking in from the side you can actually see the threads of the bolts.
You can back out the limb bolts enough to get slack in the rigging. This is generally about 10 full turns. When you get toabout eight turns you should start seeing daylight through the barrel nut. When the bolt is about half way through the barrel nut you should experience enough slack to remove the rigging.
