Did Martin put any Hamerhead strings on their 2010 bows? I had been looking at a Rack Rage at Dicks and the string was yellow. The wife got me a 2010 Pantera for Christmas and the string on it is green. Is this the old string material?

If you got a 2010 Pantera with green strings you are quite lucky. Hammerhead-Strings are green. 2010-standard strings were black/yellow.

I have a 2009 Bone Hunter (Cheetah) with yellow/back strings and the peep site spins round and round, everything i've read about the hammerhead strings says the peep wont move?

With my Hammerhead strings, I had no peep rotation from shot one. Got around 1000 shots on them now, still not a bit of rotation from the first shot. The yellow and black strings on previous years were good strings as well. No the best out there, but pretty good.

If you were getting a lot of peep rotation with the OE string then it wasn't built with the same care as aftermarket strings and is quite common with most OE strings, regardless of the bow brand. Most of these will settle down after a while, but some take longer than others. Soem, like Zebra strings never seem to settle down.

I don't know who builds the Hammerhead strings, but they should be pretty good right from the git go. I haven't seen any yet to make an honest comparison to most of the aftermarket strins I've used, but giving Martin credit it's their attempt at trying to give customers a better product for their money. Better strings is just one other thing to take into consideration when choosing a new bow. A decent set of aftermarket strings will average about $75 so consider this in the price when shopping.

I have the orange one on mine and it did turn. When I tried to turn it 1/2 a turn, it got straight as I was loosening the limb bolts. I thought I turned 1/2 a turn, but I went to the range this morning and it's back with the D loop facing the front of the bow again. I am beginning to fear that playing with the limb screws all the time might not be a good idea. Am I wrong?

Getting the peep rotation correct is difficult with those OE strings. I don't think that moving the limb bolts will harm antthing. For you next try at correcting your peep rotation, there's a few options. 1st, you can move a strand or two of your string to the other side of the peep. I personally don't like this option, but it will sometimes will do the trick. 2nd. Put that half turn back where it was and go a half turn the other direction. If that does'nt do the job, try removing that last half twist and turn the other end of the string a half or full turn. I'm guessing that you're twisting the upper end of the string, where the peep is, right? What I'm saying is that you will get a differnt result if you twist/untwist the lower end of the string, below your nocking point. Good Luck, that mis-aligned peep can drive you nuts.

What it sounds like to me is the peep needs to be flipped around. Then turn the d loop to the front.
