Confused about Onza 3

Hello

Went to a local bow shop to look at the Onza 3, the shop had two in the box, and stuffed in the basement. They said they didn't care for Martin bows, alot of problems last year. They said they were probably going to send the 2 bows back. Now I'm confused, are the Martin bows that poor quality they won't even display them? I did shoot one of them, and it seemed smooth, fast. They also pointed out the TRG will eat cables\strings like crazy from rubbing on the plastic. After leaving there, I'm confused if I want another Martin. Anybody have knowledge of the Onza 3? I was really looking forward to this bow. Thanks

Sounds like you have real jerk for a dealer. I don't know of one bow company that hasn't one problem or another. Wasn't 2 or 3 years ago that Mathews and Bowtech were blowing limbs left and right. At one of the Rinehart 100s one of our club members had his Bowtech blow. According to the Rinehart registration booth his made the 3rd that morning. Over to a well known indoor range people were saying Bowtechs were blowing on the line. Hey, people got hurt over these limb issues.

If not bows, then something else messes up a bow. Right now the Red Eye peep has cut more bow strings than be counted. What ticks me off, no one has come forward to say they have been reimbursed for strings.

So far Martin has warrantied ever bow that has had problems.

Thanks for the link Sonny. It just stinks, they had nothing good to say. They were even complaining about how much aluminum material was missing from the riser area by the quick dissconnect area. "This thing is going to bust or bend". I'm going to keep looking into the Onza 3.

2009 was a fairly bad year for Martin limbs. They have redesigned them twice to deal with these issues. Only time will tell whether they are more reliable, but Martin has been around since 1951 so they must have been doing something right over this time.

A Sonny said, your Martin dealer is selling Martin down the river. I can tell you that the margin (profit) is much higher for Bowtech and Mathews and that's a major contributor as to why dealers would rather handle them.

Another comapny that has been around a long time and never heard much about is Pearson. Same story with them. All bow companies encounter problems once in a while. It's how well they handle problems that separate the good from the bad. Both these companies have top notch customer service, argueably the best in the business.

i bought an onza 3 as soon as i could get one, have shot it a bunch haven't had one problem with it yet and don't expect to , but if for some odd reason i do martin's great customer service will take care of it . i've had a couple problems in the past and they were very good about taking care of the problem for me , i complained one time about having to wait for an alien x sorry i did the bow was worth the wait. you want go wrong with onza 3. good luck.

The Onza 3 is a great bow, more so when you consider the price. The finish on this years bows so far is near perfect. The strings are very good quality. The Onza3 IMHO should have been in Martins Pro Series and not gold series. I have yet to see anything on the 2011's I don't like, it really seems as though Martin has stepped things up this year.

Have to agree here. When I went to look the Onza 3 I was a little taken off guard to find it in the Gold section.

I was told Martin wanted this bow in Gold series, so your box stores could sell it. They knew this bow was going to be a big seller.
