Few questions for the knowledged.. How many pounds are the firecat 400 or any bows 70# limbs good for 70-75 per say and at what point do u quit losing power in poundage by twisting the cables??? Next are the cams on the firecat supposed to be leaning if i look down the bow from end to end their leaning to the left (right hand bow)..

Its not safe to excede the factory preload as it puts undue stress on the limbs, often resulting limb failure ( Stress cracks at the forks ). If your Firecat is a 70 # and is peaking at 73 #, I would'nt put any more preload on the limbs. As for your cams leaning to the left , some of that is normal on a bow with a cable slide rod, as long as the string isn't trying to climb out of the string grove of the cam. They should be pretty straight, but thats difficult on a short a2a bow like your 32.5 A2A bow, thats an acute angle that the cables are being pulled to, gets even steeper as you come to full draw, and for that reason it is hard to eliminate all of the lean. But if it is excesive, add a few twist to the right side of the cable yoke, top and bottom, just try to keep the string in the middle of the grove.

Elkslayer, if I'm correct the FireCat 400 has binary cams (slaved to each other) so there is no cable yoke to twist to eliminate cam lean. So what you have is whatyou're stuck with. My answer would be if it is too severe then a trip back to the dealer would be in order. Let him look at it and maybe new limbs are in order. I do agree that there is always some lean with any bow here the cables are pulled to the side. However, with the TRG system the lean should even out at full draw. That's what it's supposed to do in the first place.

Wouldn't having the cables twisted up to exceed the maximum listed draw weight also cause a bit of cam lean? Afterall, you are shortening the ATA even further by doing that. I would set the bow at 70# if it's a 70#'er, and work on tuning and cam timing to get the most speed out of the bow. One thing you can do by twisting cables too much is overrotate the cams, and cause a lock-up. You'll come to full draw, and the cams will lock in place. Expect some repair work associated with that. lol
