I just got a new 2011 firecat 360. The specs claims Smooth, Quiet. Mine isn't quite. using a drop away rest by trophy taker. Any suggetions

I have tried arrows of different weights from381 to 453 couldn't tell difference. also replaced bumper under drop away with softer rubber to soften sound still loud. Might try whisker biscuit. What do you think. The bow has the new string oscillation suppressor. I need help.

Need a little more info. What is the noise? String thump, rest slap, also weight of the arrow. The biggest change I made in my Bengal was heavier arrow, and string whiskers (done right). It is very quiet now. With the speed that your bow does I am sure string thump on the SOS system is a factor. Weight of arrow will be a factor. Dw and Dl and arrow weight, will help in determining what it is.

I tried one of the prong type fall away rests from Trophy Taker, and it was pretty noisy too. What I found was, when the rest drops, it smacks the frame of the rest, or the arrow shelf. Even with the VEM dampening shelf, it slapped hard enough to be noisy. I couldn't move the rest enough to not make the noise, so I switched to a Trophy Taker full containment. Ended that problem. NAP makes a full containment drop away that is pretty quiet too. Other than that, you might try moving the rest around , and see if you can get it to where it doesn't slap so hard. Of course, string silencers, limb silencers, etc. are always helpful too.
