ok coptrdoc i have c cams hl module, x mods would go on each side of my cams thus eliminating the need for a cable guard rod? what would this do for speed? again i am new to this thank you for your imput i really love this bow
The speed won't change.
It will completely and totally eliminate lateral nock travel, and 3rd axis shift.
3rd axis shift, is what everybody calls "cable guard torque". It is the very real sensation of the riser twisting in your hand as you draw the bow.
It is the sole reason that we have to do things like paper, walk-back, French, or broadhead tuning.
It is the reason that your sight pins are to the left (for a RH shooter) of a nocked arrow, when you view it at brace (rest), after you have tuned and sighted in your bow.
what is the cost of this shoot thru system and will i need new strings? will i notice a significate difference in my shooting?
You will need to replace your cables. Your string will still work.
The hardest thing will be finding the X-mods. I would try Martin first. The Nitrous cam was discontinued in 2007, but they do still have them. It's just a matter of sweet talking them out of a set!
In addition to the mods, you will need longer screws. If you get the mods from Martin, they should come with the screws.
If I remember correctly, the X-mods cost $80.
The biggest difference with the conversion, is in ease of tuning, and accuracy with broadheads. You will be able to shoot a wider range of arrow spines, and with much smaller fletchings than you can imagine.
I can shoot a bare shaft at distances up to 60 yards, and it hits within 5" of my fletched shafts.
