    Default Nemesis out of specs

    Fellow archers,

recently I got a brand new Alien Nemesis.
But right out of the box, the bow was not within
    its specs.
The ATA is 34.75 instead of 34".
And the BH is 7.5" instaed of 7".

What is to do? And, shall I twist the cables??

    Regards,

    Kaly

    Is it a 2011 Nemesis?
"As for the specs, ATA should run at 34 1/4"- 34 3/8" and brace should be 7 1/8 to 7 1/4. The next time you have the bow in a press, take the string/cables off and measure them, they should be 57.75 for the 2.0 cam string and 52.5 for the 1.5 cam string, the cables for both size cams should be 38.75."
When I first got my Nemesis the factory string/cables were too long.
You should pull them off and measure them (under tension) and twist/untwist them to the correct lengths. This will put the bow in spec and cam rotation correct.
Mine with the correct string lengths comes out at 34 5/16"ata and 7"bh.
Also - you are taking the measurements with the limb bolts bottomed out yes?

    What to do?

If you are still in germany call your pro series shop.

I agree with everything that is stated by Spiker. Also i can mention that the BH is affected by the cam rotation.

    No, it is a 2010.

Is it the same for the 2010 model, what you stated above?

Yes the specs are the same.
I was just wondering if you already had a 2011 model is all.

Default Happy to run acrosss this thread!

My 6 day old '10 model Nemisis as bought was at 35" AtA and 7 1/8 brace with the cams badly out of synch.

I twisted the cams into sych and now have 34 5/8 and 7 1/8.

By my understanding (poor though it may be) it seems to me that I should now twist the cables a bit more to get the AtA closer and still keep the brace under 7 1/4. Or untwist the cables to get the brace down and let the AtA get out of spec? Or maybe, just leave it alone and shoot it. Or twist the string to bring down the AtA and brace at the same time and then worry about the draw length.

This is my first dance with binaries and I obviously need a good deal of help.

Twist/untwist the string and cables (under tension) and get them EXACTLY at the factory lengths posted above. Install them and then check cam timing.
Adjust as needed - it should only be a 1/2 or maybe full twist on one of the cables. Let the ata and bh fall where it may.!!
Set the rest with the arrow centered in the berger holes and nock point square. Set the center shot with the center line of the arrow 15/16" out from the bridge between the berger holes.
This should put you shooting bullet holes thru paper or really really close.

New bow - make dealer make sure nothing is wrong and make it right so there is no blame put back on you - I think Montalaar gave good solid advise.

Plus, new in box, you should have a manual - it helps. If not, contact your dealer.
