    Default string silencer alternatives

does anyone have any homegrown ideas for things that can/have been used in a pinch for string silencers? Thick rubber bands have worked well for me.

I saw a post on here that someone used the "fingerless glove" rubber pieces from a traditional bow as a string silencer. I'd think just about anything made of a soft rubber compound would work.

I have used my wife's yarn in a pinch before and it actually did a good job!

the no-glove is now a factory installed item on the new Strother's bows. Jig skirts could work well, too. Being 30+mi from the nearest pro shop, requires some creative thinking at times. Any other ideas?

An old bicycle inner tube. Cut it into thin strips. Tie them to the string.

I'd be careful using Jig skirts. You might get attacked by a land shark!
