    You might also invest in a set of d-loop pliers. I bought some and was amazed how much more these pliers can pull on the loop than needle nose pliers, which also helps produce tighter knots.

    I'll plus one on that..........best investment I ever made. Much easier to get a good loop and pulls it really tight.

    One tip, don't use cheap needle nose pliers either. I broke a pair tightening a D-loop once. Had to put on another new loop after that. Glad it broke on the loop side, and not the string side.

    I used a Craftsman, I don't think I have enough strength to break it. And if I did it would be replaced for free. The string would be on me.
