1/4 inch , I frame the sight ring inside my peep.
I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather.. Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.

3 of my bows have 1/4 peeps, the other has a 3/16ths. Line up the sight ring just inside the peep. 2 inch sight rings on the 3 bows with 1/4 peeps, and a 1 1/2 on the 3/16ths peep bow.

Fletcher Archery makes a 1/32 peep, and if it got any smaller than that, I don't know how you could see through the hole.

On the field/3D bow ( the 55#er ) I use a SuperBall 1/8"peep with a #6 Clarirfier, and on the Hunter, I use a Hooded SuperBall 1/4" peep with a #5 Clairifier. With the hooded peep, I see the outside of the 1 5/8 pin housing, and with the other superball, I see the green ring on the shooter side of my HHA OL 5519.

I'll throw a curve ball here and tell you I don't use any peep. I have a No-Peep sight eliminator (much like Anchor Sight) and love it. That means I have less weight on the string, don't have to worry about string stretch causing a peep to not be aligned at full draw and don't have anything limiting light entering my eye pupil. As such I get about 15 or more minutes additional shooting light in early morning and late evening that if I had a peep. It also helps to quickly identify if I'm not anchored exactly or if I'm torquing the bow. The technology that's in this device was bought by the company that makes the IQ Bow Sight - the one with what they call Retina Lock.
