I hit a variety of areas.......for deer it's typically open foothills out from hay fields and high desert mtn. Then for elk and/or deer, go up into timber where it can be nice weather one day, then snow the next.
(in that first photo, I have a red vest marking where a 25" 4x4 buck is laying in bottom of the draw......down lower in the draw is a 3x3 buck walking away that was there when we got back to pack my buck out)

Thanks, I like the area(s)..........well, until about day 3 and packing a deer or 2nd - 3rd trip out with someone elses elk on my back, soaked with sweat in knee deep snow and single digit temps......then sometimes it doesn't look so nice
