Default String Suppressor Setting. (SOS) setting

I bought a 2011 exile and the String Oscillation Suppressor didn't come standard and decided to get one after noticing string wear because of the shooting string striking the newly desinged TRG. My local dealer made a phone call to Martin and set mine at about 1/4 inch from the shooting string. I've noticed that on all of the 2011 models that this comes standard that the SOS is flush against the string. Is this the correct placement?

I've got both of my bows set up so that you can just barely see daylight between string and suppressor, so I guess that would be about 1/32" or a little less.

I set mine as far forward as I could w/out touching the string...
My wife packed my bags and threw me out, as I was walking out the door, she told me "I hope you have a long and miserable life!"... To which I replied "Oh, now you want me to stay?!" LOL

I moved it, after my dealer set it, to where it's just kissing the string and was hoping that I did the right thing. didn't want to wear it out prematurely.

x2 with excellent results.several hundred shots through both bows and no signs of wear on the string or SOS. My Cheetah is equipped with am aftermarket unit by Norway Ind. The Athens still wears the stock piece.

If you are worried about wear and tear on the SOS, you might try this thread from Archer. I've done this with both of my bows and it seems to work very well, and also quiets things down a bit.
